Sanger enforces a 72-hour street parking limit consistent with California Vehicle Code Section 22651(k). Vehicles may not remain parked in the same location on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours. Street sweeping zones require vehicles to be moved on posted days.
Under California Vehicle Code Section 22651(k) and the Sanger Municipal Code, no vehicle may be parked on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours without being moved. The Sanger Police Department and code enforcement officers enforce this provision, typically on a complaint-driven basis. Street sweeping zones are posted with signage indicating days and times when parking is prohibited to allow sweeping equipment access. Vehicles must be parked in the direction of traffic flow and may not block fire hydrants (15-foot clearance), driveways, crosswalks, or intersections. Parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant is prohibited under CVC 22514. Red-curb zones indicate no stopping or parking at any time. The City of Sanger does not operate a residential permit parking program.
Vehicles parked over 72 hours may be cited and towed under CVC 22651(k). Street sweeping violations result in parking citations. Blocking a fire hydrant carries fines starting at approximately $65 plus towing fees.
