San Marcos, TX Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Under Sec. 82.187 of the Code of Ordinances, a large motor vehicle -- defined as over 22 feet long or more than seven feet tall, including RVs, with an exemption for disability-adaptation height -- along with a travel trailer, personal watercraft, or boat, cannot be left, stood, or parked on a public street in a single-family residential zoning district for more than 24 consecutive hours, whether or not it's attached to a tow vehicle. Commercial vehicles over one-ton capacity, farm equipment, and construction vehicles face a tighter 30-minute cap on the same streets, except while actively loading, unloading, or in active use. Front- and side-yard parking of the same vehicle classes is separately restricted under Sec. 82.184.
