Dallas Development Code Section 51A-4.301 governs off-street parking regulations. In single family, duplex, townhouse, and CH districts, off-street parking must be provided at or below ground level on approved paved surfaces. Parking on unpaved areas including front lawns and side yards is prohibited. Driveways used for parking must be constructed of an approved hard surface material such as concrete, asphalt, or pavers. Driveway approaches must meet city engineering standards for width and slope. Vehicles parked in front yards must be on the driveway surface. Code Compliance enforces residential parking surface violations.
Vehicles parked on unpaved surfaces may be cited by Code Compliance. Property owners may be required to restore damaged yards and install proper paving. Fines apply for repeated violations.
