Dallas Code Section 28-80 and 28-81 prohibit parking commercial vehicles over 1.5 tons rated capacity on residential block faces. Truck-tractors, semitrailers, buses, and trailers are also prohibited on residential streets.
Dallas Code Section 28-81 prohibits the stopping, parking, or standing of a truck-tractor, road tractor, semitrailer, bus, trailer, or truck with a rated capacity in excess of one and one-half tons along any block face containing a single family, duplex, or multifamily dwelling. Section 28-80 addresses general commercial vehicle parking restrictions. Under Chapter 51A, oversized vehicles may not be parked in the front or side yard of a home except for temporary loading or unloading. No overnight parking is permitted for vehicles over 1.5 tons on residential streets, even in front of the owner's home, unless actively loading or unloading.
Violations of Section 28-80 and 28-81 may result in citations and fines. Vehicles may be towed at the owner's expense. Repeat offenders face escalating penalties.
