Irving repealed its local commercial vehicle residential parking restriction (former Β§21-115) in 2016. TX Transportation Code Β§545.307 still restricts overnight commercial vehicle parking on residential streets 10 PM-6 AM where posted.
Irving's local ordinance restricting commercial vehicle parking in residential districts (former Β§21-115, derived from Ordinance 1065 and Ordinance 3699) was repealed on April 14, 2016 by Ordinance 2016-9794. This makes Irving more permissive than many DFW-area cities for commercial vehicle parking. However, TX Transportation Code Β§545.307 still applies: after 10 PM and before 6 AM, commercial motor vehicles may not park on streets within residential subdivisions where signs are posted. Residents may petition (25% of owners/tenants must sign) for the city to post such signs. Trucks with more than two rear wheels remain prohibited from city-owned parking lots. HOA deed restrictions may impose additional commercial vehicle limits.
State law violation where posted: traffic citation. City lot violation: towing. HOA violations handled through private enforcement.
