All driveways shall be paved with concrete or asphalt in accordance with St. George standard specifications for design and construction. Concrete pavers are an approved driveway surface if built to city standards. Driveways located within the RE-20, RE-37.5, A-0.5 and A-1 zones may substitute pavement for a six inch (6") depth of Type II road base and three inches (3") of gravel, with a minimum gravel size of one-half inch (1/2") in diameter. Five feet (5') of paving or concrete pavers shall be provided behind the sidewalk or property line before gravel is permitted. The gravel portion of the driveway shall be lined with a solid border such as pavers or concrete. The lot owner is responsible for any gravel on, or damage to, city property or right-of-way.
