Taylor, MI Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

Sec. 15.08, Storage of recreational vehicles or utility trailers, governs how residents in Taylor may park camping and recreational equipment on residential lots. On lots of one acre or less, only one recreational vehicle or trailer may be stored outside; two are allowed on lots of two to three acres, and three on lots of three acres or more, though those caps do not apply to vehicles stored inside an enclosed building. A recreational vehicle, travel trailer, or utility trailer may be parked in a garage, accessory building, or the rear yard consistent with accessory-building rules, but it may not be parked or stored in a front or side yard except for loading or unloading.

On lots of one acre or less, any outdoor-stored recreational vehicle is capped at 200 square feet in size. A short-term exception lets recreational vehicles of any size park anywhere on the lot for up to 48 hours for loading and unloading, provided sightlines for driveways and traffic on adjoining properties are not obstructed. Stored vehicles must be licensed and registered to the property's owner or occupant, kept in good repair, disconnected from sanitary, water, or electric service, and not occupied. Every vehicle stored under this section must sit on a hard or pervious concrete, asphalt, permeable/grass paver, or gravel surface rather than bare ground or grass.
