Annapolis, MD Parking Rules: EV Charging (2026)

Annapolis City Code § 12.20.090(B) prohibits stopping, standing, or parking in a designated plug-in electric drive vehicle charging space unless the vehicle is itself a plug-in electric drive vehicle as defined by the Maryland Transportation Article. Signs marking these spaces must be at least 18 inches high and 12 inches wide, clearly visible to approaching drivers, state the maximum fine for a violation, and meet applicable state and federal parking-sign standards; the space itself must also carry green pavement markings. A violation carries a $100 fine under the city's parking fine schedule, and § 12.20.210(A)(6) lets police or the city's authorized agent tow any vehicle unlawfully parked in a charging space.
