Full Breakdown
Westchester County Code § 638.11 requires any construction or reconstruction contract for a parking garage or open parking lot, one built by, or discretionarily funded by, the County, to include electric vehicle charging capacity. Lots with 250 or fewer spaces need 10% wired for level one chargers and another 10% for level two/three-capable chargers; lots over 250 spaces need 50 total EV-ready spaces split evenly between the two tiers. The Commissioner of Public Works and Transportation enforces the chapter and may set usage fees.
Violations & Fines
Contracts omitting the required EV charging provisions violate Chapter 638; the Commissioner of Public Works and Transportation enforces compliance and may set usage fees for the required stations.
