Summary
Occupying a working Lansing EV charging space with anything other than a plugged-in electric vehicle is a civil infraction under Section 404.14, on top of any other parking rule that applies.
Use of EV parking spaces. When an EV charging station is operable and in service, an EV parking space for the charging station shall be occupied solely by an EV and shall not be used for any other parking or purpose. While parked in the EV parking space, EVs must be plugged into the charging station.(c)EV parking spaces locations. When additional City parking restrictions simultaneously regulate the EV parking space, the person responsible for parking the EV must obtain all appropriate permits, pay for metered parking, and comply with all parking requirements.(d)Violations. Any person who violates subsection (b) or (c) hereof shall be responsible for a civil infraction and subject to penalties as established in Section 404.03.(e)Enforcement. Parking enforcement workers, pursuant to Section 404.04, and police officers are authorized to issue parking violation citations for violations of this section. (Ord. No. 1327, § 1, 12-2-24)
