Franklin Township, PA Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Township Code § 15-407 bars anyone from stopping, standing or parking a vehicle, other than a pedalcycle, on the roadway side of any vehicle already stopped or parked at the curb, which bans double-parking township-wide. , and never for longer than the loading or unloading actually takes. Outside those two daily windows, or on a street not listed in the table, the loading exception does not apply and the general double-parking ban controls. The Board of Supervisors adopted the current parking scheme by Ord. 2009-05 on August 19, 2009.

Enforcement for this section runs through § 15-411, which covers the whole of Chapter 15, Part 4 (General Parking Regulations, §§ 15-401 through 15-411). A violation is prosecuted as a summary offense before a Magisterial District Judge, carrying a fine of not more than $25 plus costs. The ordinance also sets up a streamlined ticket process: police officers and parking enforcement personnel attach a notice to the offending vehicle, and the owner can pay the fine within 72 hours at one of the special parking fine boxes installed around the township to avoid formal prosecution and the costs that come with it.
