Full Breakdown

Sec. 44-188 requires every business, commercial or industrial lot to provide off-street loading space scaled to floor area, from one space for a 2,000-to-10,000-square-foot retail or industrial building up to additional spaces as square footage climbs. Subsection (c) bars locating any loading space within 30 feet of a street intersection or requiring a vehicle to back into a public street, and subsection (d) sets minimum dimensions: 12 feet wide, 45 feet long and 14 feet of vertical clearance for a standard space, with smaller dimensions allowed for funeral homes.

Violations & Fines

Establishing a business use without the required off-street loading space, or siting a loading berth within 30 feet of an intersection, is a zoning violation enforceable by the village's zoning administrator.
