Full Breakdown

MMC § 11.08.150 reserves truck loading zones for truck-licensed commercial vehicles only, and caps their use at 30 minutes for the expeditious loading and unloading of property while the zone's posted hours are in effect. Any non-commercial vehicle that stops, stands, or parks in a marked truck loading zone is in violation regardless of how long it stays. A separate general loading-zone rule, MMC § 11.08.110, applies the same 30-minute cap and a passenger-loading exception to ordinary (non-truck) loading zones citywide.

Violations & Fines

Parking a non-commercial vehicle in a truck zone, or overstaying the 30-minute loading window, is a $40 parking violation under MMC § 11.08.250, enforced by city parking officers.
