Mobile, AL Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Mobile City Code § 61-315 gives the city traffic engineer authority to establish bus stops, bus stands, taxicab stands, and stands for other passenger common-carrier vehicles at whatever public-street locations and in whatever number best serve public convenience, with every stand marked by appropriate signs. A backing enforcement rule, Sec. 61-317, reserves those curb spaces: no vehicle other than a bus may stop in a bus stop, and no vehicle other than a taxicab may stop in a taxicab stand, except for a passenger vehicle briefly loading or unloading riders when it won't interfere with a waiting bus or taxi.
