Canyon County, ID Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

on any Canyon County owned or leased property, unless the board of county commissioners has permitted it or the location is clearly marked as an exception; on-duty Canyon County employees may still park overnight. A companion provision, section 04-05-01, separately makes it unlawful to park in violation of posted restrictions on county property or to block an emergency exit, fire lane, or access point to a public parking area, and both sections were adopted together by Ordinance 23-010 on December 7, 2023. Section 04-05-05 classifies a violation as an infraction under Idaho Code section 18-111, fined according to Rule 9 of the Idaho Infraction Rules as amended.

Section 04-05-07 allows the county to tow or otherwise remove a violating vehicle, with the owner or operator responsible for the towing and storage expense charged by the company handling the removal. This article's overnight restriction is limited to property Canyon County itself owns or leases, such as park lots and county facility grounds; it is not a general overnight parking ban on public roads throughout unincorporated Canyon County, and it does not reach streets inside Caldwell, Nampa or the county's other incorporated cities, which set their own parking rules.
