Unincorporated Colusa County has no general overnight street-parking ban, but on streets posted with signs no vehicle may park more than 10 minutes between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. (except Sundays and holidays), and no vehicle may sit on any street more than 120 consecutive hours.
Colusa County Code Section 12A-3 ('All night parking prohibited on certain streets') provides that, when signs are erected giving notice, no person shall park or leave standing any vehicle on that street for longer than 10 minutes between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. of any day, except Sundays and holidays. This is a posted, location-specific restriction rather than a countywide ban — the rule applies only where signs have been installed. Separately, Section 12A-32 caps all street parking at 120 consecutive hours: no person who owns or controls a vehicle may leave it standing on any street for a consecutive period of more than 120 hours. Together these mean overnight parking is generally allowed on unposted county streets so long as the vehicle is moved before 120 hours elapse. The all-night restriction tracks the authority granted to local agencies under California Vehicle Code Section 22507.5, which lets counties restrict parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. by ordinance or resolution.
Enforced by the Colusa County Sheriff's Department and CHP through a notice of violation under California Vehicle Code Section 40202 (Section 12A-38). Civil penalties, late fees, and administrative charges are set by board-of-supervisors resolution (Section 12A-39). Vehicles left beyond the 120-hour limit may be removed; emergency tows are authorized.
