Miami Beach enforces strict overnight parking regulations through metered parking zones, residential parking permit districts, and time-limited street parking. Most metered spaces operate 24 hours in entertainment districts, and overnight parking on residential streets may require a residential parking permit.
Miami Beach regulates parking through Chapter 106 of the City Code (Traffic and Vehicles) and the Parking Department. Many metered parking zones, particularly in the South Beach entertainment district and along Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive, operate on a 24-hour meter schedule. Residential parking permit programs exist in several neighborhoods where on-street parking is restricted to permit holders during certain hours. Vehicles parked on public streets may not remain in the same location for more than 72 hours without being moved. Overnight parking in city-owned garages is available at posted rates at multiple facilities throughout the city. The Parking Department can be reached at (305) 673-7505 for garage information. Street parking citations are issued by Parking Enforcement and can be contested through the Miami-Dade County Clerk. Commercial vehicles over certain weight limits are prohibited from parking overnight in residential districts.
Parking violations are enforced 24/7 by Parking Enforcement. Metered parking citations range from $18 to $100+ depending on the violation. Vehicles parked over 72 hours may be towed. Contact the Parking Department at (305) 673-7505.
