Code of Ordinances Section 28-106(a) makes it unlawful to park a motor vehicle for a continuous period in excess of 24 hours, after written notice, on a public street or highway, a public parking lot, other public property, or private property where the public has the right to travel, for the principal purpose of displaying it for sale, hire or rental. A law enforcement officer may then have the vehicle removed at the owner's expense. On Gasparilla Island, Section 28-162 lets buses and recreational vehicles park only dawn to dusk on East Railroad Avenue between 5th and 7th Street, and bans them anywhere else on the island.
