In unincorporated Adams County, RVs, boats, boat trailers, campers, fifth-wheels and motor homes may be stored on residential lots but must sit on an approved asphalt or concrete surface, never in the back yard or a landscaped area. On public rights-of-way an RV or trailer may park only 24 hours.
Adams County's Vehicle Regulations (Development Standards & Regulations Section 4-03-03-02-14) list boats, boat trailers, trailers, campers, fifth-wheel trailers and motor homes among the vehicles that may be stored in residential zone districts. All such storage must be on an approved hard surface of asphalt or concrete, and no parking is allowed in the back yard or any landscaped area. On any public right-of-way, a recreational vehicle or trailer may park a maximum of 24 hours, and the same unit may not be moved and re-parked within a 5-mile vicinity for six months. Motor homes and trailers may be inhabited once for up to 30 consecutive days per calendar year.
