Bonita Springs, FL Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Section 34-172 of the Bonita Springs Residential Parking Ordinance lists the conditions on residential property that the city council has declared public nuisances. The first is that no residential parking area can be leased, rented or otherwise provided for consideration to someone not residing on the property. The second bars parking on any grassy area or on any portion of the premises other than the driveway parking area, with an exception for properly graveled and bordered unpaved parking areas. Access to all driveway parking areas has to come from an approved or existing legal driveway connection, unpaved areas need gravel or other erosion preventing material with side borders, and failing to keep the size and dimension criteria in § 34-170 is itself a nuisance.

The item that reaches recreational vehicles and boats is § 34-172(6): parking of any motor vehicle, recreational vehicle, mobile home, commercial vehicle, trailer, boat or vessel is prohibited on any right-of-way. Together with § 34-170(b), which keeps front yard greenspace free of parked vehicles, those two rules keep trailers, recreational vehicles and boats off the street edge and off the grass.

Section 34-169(b) states that the division is supplemental to standards found in other portions of the city Land Development Code and other ordinances, including regulations on the parking of recreational vehicles, mobile homes and commercial vehicles in residential areas. Section 10-96(b)(9) adds that outdoor storage on private property of boats, motor vehicles or trailers that are not affixed with a current registration decal is a nuisance on residential property. Code enforcement officers are authorized by § 34-173 to enforce the division, and the city manager or designees receive complaints and send notices to owners.
