Joliet Code of Ordinances Section 19-150 prohibits any person from parking or permitting to be parked any truck with gross vehicle weight in excess of 8,000 pounds, or any semitrailer, trailer, pole trailer, recreational vehicle, or bus upon any street, highway, or alley in the city. Exceptions apply only for active loading or unloading of persons or property, and the vehicle must be moved immediately after that purpose is accomplished. Vehicles may also park in metered spaces if they fit within one space. Under the zoning ordinance (Section 47-5.3), no motor vehicle including boats, trailers, or RVs may be parked on any yard or parkway except upon a driveway or parking space constructed to city standards. Incidental maintenance not exceeding 72 consecutive hours is permitted.
