In Fort Collins, RVs, boats and trailers may not be parked or stored on residential streets except for loading or unloading, and only for less than 48 hours. In unincorporated Larimer County, store RVs on your own lot, not in the right-of-way.
Fort Collins Traffic Code Section 1214 bars parking or storing a recreational vehicle, trailer, boat trailer, mobile home or any vehicle over 20 feet on the street next to residentially zoned lots. The only exception is short-term loading or unloading, capped at under 48 hours. Moving the RV to another spot on the same street does not reset the clock; it must leave the right-of-way. In unincorporated Larimer County, there is no on-street storage program on rural roads; the Land Use Code expects parking and storage on the private lot, and single-family driveways must be surfaced to the right-of-way line.
Fort Collins parking citation and possible tow; repeat right-of-way storage is enforced by Parking Services and Police under FCTC 1214.
