Sammamish has no special RV/boat dimensional ban on residential streets; recreational vehicles, boats and trailers are governed by the citywide 72-hour street limit. In city parks, trailers, campers and boat trailers may park only in designated areas, and overnight boat mooring requires the Parks Director's permission.
Sammamish does not impose a dedicated recreational-vehicle length, height or weight restriction on public streets. A motorhome, travel trailer, boat or boat trailer parked on a public street is treated like any other vehicle and is therefore subject to the 72-hour consecutive parking limit in Sammamish Municipal Code (SMC) 46.30.060, which states no person having charge of a vehicle shall permit it to stand or be parked on any street in the city for more than 72 hours consecutively. Residents previously asked the City Council to add a chronic-RV restriction after an oversized motorhome repeatedly relocated to reset the 72-hour clock; the council responded by tightening the broader parking ordinance rather than adopting an RV-specific length rule. Unlicensed RVs or trailers stored in the public right-of-way are separately prohibited under SMC 46.30.050. Within city parks, open space and trails, SMC Title 7A (Parks and Recreation) bars parking any automobile, trailer, camper or boat trailer except in clearly designated areas, and prohibits mooring or anchoring a boat overnight in a city park or associated marine area unless the location is designated for that use or the Parks Director gives permission.
Street RV/boat parking beyond 72 consecutive hours is a civil parking infraction under SMC 46.30.060 and the vehicle may be tagged and, if not removed, impounded under RCW 46.55.085. Unauthorized vehicles or boats in a city park may be towed at the owner's expense under SMC Title 7A. Report long-term RV or boat parking through the My Sammamish portal or to King County Sheriff dispatch at (206) 296-3311.
