Full Breakdown
Under City Code § 225-57, all city streets other than posted alternate-side blocks are declared emergency snow routes. The Commissioner of Public Works may put a parking prohibition into effect whenever observation or weather-service forecasts show plowing requires clear streets, announcing it publicly when feasible. While the prohibition is in effect, no vehicle may remain parked or standing on any snow route for more than 12 hours. Saratoga Springs Police enforce it: cars left in violation are ticketed and towed to a contracted storage yard, and the owner pays towing and storage fees plus a city surcharge to redeem the vehicle.
Violations & Fines
A vehicle left on a snow route past 12 hours during a declared prohibition is ticketed and towed by Saratoga Springs Police; the owner pays towing, storage, and a city surcharge to reclaim it.
