Acworth, GA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Acworth Code of Ordinances § 90-45 makes it unlawful to park a motor vehicle in violation of any posted parking time limitation or "No Parking" designation anywhere in the city. The base fine for overtime parking or a "No Parking" violation is $25, and that fine is declared delinquent and doubled to $50 if it is not paid within ten working days of the ticket's issuance. Each 24-hour period a vehicle remains parked past a posted limit counts as a separate violation, so a car left in a time-limited zone for several days can accumulate multiple citations rather than one continuing offense.

Once an owner accumulates five delinquent parking citations, or has any single delinquent citation outstanding more than 90 days, the city can bring an enforcement action in municipal court, and the code presumes the registered owner was in control and possession of the vehicle at the time of the violation. At that five-citation threshold, a city police officer has the discretion to immobilize the vehicle in place or have it removed and stored until every outstanding citation, plus impoundment, storage and other authorized charges, is paid; if the officer chooses immobilization rather than towing, an additional $25 immobilization charge must be paid before the vehicle is released.
