Under Appleton Municipal Code § 19-86, parking limitations and restrictions are enacted by the Common Council and shown on the Parking District Map on file with the City Traffic Engineer, who makes additions and deletions when the Council directs. Enforcement runs through the Director of Public Works, who under § 19-88 hires meter checkers empowered to issue tickets, chalk or mark tires and cite violations of restricted and prohibited parking areas, including sites with only temporary signage.
