Augusta-Richmond County Code Sec. 3-5-93 bars stopping, standing, or parking on any street in front of a driveway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk, or within 30 feet of a stop sign or signal, except briefly to load or unload. Sec. 3-5-92 requires at least 10 feet of roadway width left open for traffic. Sec. 3-5-94 requires two-way street parking with the right-hand wheels parallel to and within 12 inches of the curb -- parking against oncoming traffic is improper. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office enforces these rules with citations, fines, or vehicle impoundment.
