Bend, OR Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Bend Code § 6.20.040, Prohibited Parking, is the City's baseline list of where a vehicle cannot be left on a street, alley, or off-street facility, on top of any signed, metered or district-specific restriction. Subsection (A) adopts Oregon's own stopping and standing prohibitions under ORS 811.550. Subsections (B) through (D) bar parking next to a curb the City has painted yellow or red, parking on or within the landscape strip between the curb and the sidewalk, and parking contrary to any parking control device such as a sign or painted marking.

Later subsections reach specific problems: subsection (I) bars leaving a vehicle in the same spot on a street or in an off-street lot for more than three business days; subsection (J) bars parking in any designated fire lane; subsection (L) bars parking a vehicle with expired registration under ORS 803.455(1) in a parking space, alley, landscape strip, street or off-street facility; and subsection (N) bars a vehicle with any protrusion, attached or not, that blocks the sidewalk or a travel lane or extends outside the parking space.

Bend Code § 6.20.035 separately requires every parked vehicle to have its brakes set, engine off and keys removed, and to be turned toward the curb on a grade. 'Enforcement officers' under BC 6.20.000(7), meaning Bend police officers, community services officers, parking services employees and City-authorized contractors, issue the citations, and BC 6.20.025 confirms every one of them is an 'issuing officer' for purposes of ORS 221.333.
