01, General Rules, sets the baseline for how any vehicle must be positioned when parked or stopped on a Plymouth street. Subdivision 1 requires vehicles to be parked or stopped parallel with the edge of the roadway, headed in the direction of traffic, with the curb-side wheels within 12 inches of the edge of the roadway and not closer than four feet to another parked vehicle. Subdivision 2 covers streets and highways that have no curb, requiring a stopped or parked vehicle to be parallel with and to the right of the paved, improved or main-traveled part of the street.

Subdivision 3 addresses one-way roadways specifically: a vehicle must be parked facing the same direction that traffic on that one-way street is permitted to travel, which is the rule that makes parking facing the wrong way on a one-way street a violation. Subdivision 4 covers streets marked or signed for angle parking, requiring vehicles to park at the marked angle.
