Vehicle parking on roads in unincorporated Sutter County is regulated by Chapter 1120 (Vehicle Parking) of the County Traffic Code. Section 1120-020 prohibits stopping, standing, or parking any vehicle in the places listed in California Vehicle Code Sections 22500 and 22500.1, except to avoid conflict with traffic or when directed by a peace officer or traffic control device. Section 1120-100 authorizes the Board of Supervisors, under Vehicle Code Section 22507, to prohibit or restrict parking on specific portions of County roadways by resolution; such restrictions take effect only after appropriate signs are erected, and in lieu of signs the County may use curb markings consistent with Vehicle Code Section 21458. Section 1120-040 bars leaving an unregistered vehicle standing on any County street, and Section 1120-050 requires proper display of license plates per Vehicle Code Section 5200.
