On-street parking in Yuba City is regulated under Title 4, Chapter 9 (Traffic) of the Municipal Code and California Vehicle Code Division 11. A vehicle may not park in the same spot on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours.
Yuba City Municipal Code Title 4, Chapter 9 (Traffic) adopts and supplements California Vehicle Code parking rules. Under CVC §22651(k), any vehicle parked or left standing on a highway/public street for 72 or more consecutive hours may be removed. Vehicles must be moved at least one-tenth of a mile every 72 hours; merely rolling or pushing a vehicle does not count as movement. Article 14 of Chapter 9 separately governs oversize vehicles, and on-street commercial vehicle restrictions apply in residential areas. Improperly parked vehicles (against flow of traffic, blocking sidewalks, obstructing traffic signs, or blocking intersection sightlines) are subject to citation and tow. Code Enforcement and Yuba City PD share enforcement. Complaints can be filed via yc311 or by calling (530) 822-4703.
Standard parking citations for posted-time, sweep-day, or other violations are issued by Yuba City Police; fines vary by violation type. Vehicles parked over 72 consecutive hours may be tagged with a 72-hour warning and then towed at owner's expense under CVC §22651(k). Tow, storage, and administrative fees are recoverable from the registered owner. Report a problem vehicle through yc311 or call Code Enforcement at (530) 822-4703.
