Arlington actively enforces property blight standards through its Code Compliance division. Property owners must maintain their properties free of accumulated junk, debris, abandoned vehicles, and deteriorated conditions.
Arlington's code compliance standards address accumulated junk, trash, and debris; abandoned or inoperable vehicles; overgrown weeds and grass exceeding 12 inches; graffiti; broken windows and deteriorated structures; and improperly stored materials. The city uses progressive enforcement with notices, fines, and abatement. Code Compliance can be reached at 817-459-6777 during business hours.
Initial violations receive a notice to correct. Non-compliance results in escalating fines. The city may abate conditions at the owner's expense and place liens on the property.
