Reno Municipal Code § 6.06.740 bars crossing a roadway anywhere except at right angles to the curb, by the shortest route to the opposite curb, or in a crosswalk. Section 6.06.745 goes further: a pedestrian crossing outside a marked crosswalk, or outside an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, must yield the right-of-way to all vehicles on the highway, and cannot cross diagonally through an intersection unless a signal authorizes it. Between signalized intersections, crossing anywhere but a marked crosswalk is barred outright.
