Full Breakdown
Broward County's property maintenance code treats a loud house party the same as any other noise nuisance: if sound crosses your property line and is plainly audible inside a neighboring home with doors and windows shut, it's automatically "Unreasonably Loud Noise" and a code violation. No decibel meter is required, an officer's judgment on audibility and disruption is enough. Restaurants, bars, and nightclubs are specifically exempted at all times, but a residential backyard party is not. The rule only reaches the unincorporated area; Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs and Broward's other 27 cities enforce their own separate noise ordinances.
Violations & Fines
Code enforcement officer investigates and cites under Chapter 8½; no sound-level measurement needed, just plainly-audible-inside-a-neighbor's-home evidence.
