The 2010 Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act bans smoking in nearly all indoor workplaces, bars, restaurants, and within ten feet of entrances, applying statewide in Wichita with enforcement by Sedgwick County Health Department.
Under the Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act enacted in 2010, smoking is prohibited inside virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces, including bars, restaurants, hotels, and offices, plus within ten feet of building entrances, exits, and operable windows. The law applies in Wichita without exception for private clubs that admit members of the public. Limited exemptions exist for designated tobacco shops and casino gaming floors. The Sedgwick County Health Department investigates complaints, and proprietors must post no-smoking signage and remove ashtrays.
Fines up to $100 for individuals smoking unlawfully and up to $500 per violation against proprietors who fail to enforce the act.
