Frisco, TX Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

City Code § 58-92(23)c makes it unlawful to violate Ordinance 95-04-11, which prohibits the use of in-line skates, skates, skateboards, bicycles, motorized or nonmotorized vehicles, and any other recreational or nonrecreational product that may destroy the surfaces of tennis courts or any other painted concrete or laminate surfaces. Subsection (23)g repeats the identical prohibition in near-verbatim language as a standalone restriction, underscoring that the ban targets surface damage on tennis courts, painted concrete, and laminate surfaces specifically, not park pathways or plazas generally. The restriction sits inside § 58-92's broader "park general restrictions" list, which also covers loitering near restrooms, using unauthorized building areas, hitting golf balls outside designated areas, and using amplified sound without director approval, so it applies to all indoor and outdoor facilities owned, leased, or otherwise controlled by the city.

Because the rule is anchored to a 1995 ordinance still in force, it predates and sits alongside Frisco's later skate-park facilities; a court or painted surface being available for other recreation does not exempt wheeled devices that could damage it. Enforcement runs through the parks and recreation department and Frisco Police Department under § 58-96, which authorizes ejection from the facility in addition to any citation issued.
