Gilbert, AZ Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Code of Gilbert § 62-144 lists the places a motorized play vehicle or motorized skateboard may never operate. Sidewalks are off-limits except to cross by the most direct route to a road or driveway; town parking structures and parks are off-limits except for riding on the park's public roadways; and any public property posted or designated by its owner as prohibiting "skateboards" is off-limits regardless of posting language elsewhere in the code. Riders are also barred from any public roadway with four or more marked traffic lanes or a posted speed limit above 25 mph, from private property without the owner's written permission, and from any path or lane designated as a bicycle lane by state or local authorities.
