1 defines a skateboard as a platform or board mounted on wheels, or a board with roller-skate-type wheels affixed underneath, that has no mechanism to steer or control its direction while being ridden, distinguishing it from a motorized skateboard, defined separately as one propelled other than by muscular power. 2, rewritten June 18, 2024 by Ord. No. 68-25, prohibits using, operating or riding a skateboard, alongside low-speed vehicles, electric bicycles, scooters and motorized bicycles, on any public sidewalk or public parking lot. b goes further for skateboard-specific infrastructure: no person may construct, build, place or use any ramp, track or similar device or structure on which skateboards are ridden, on any public property, including but not limited to a public park, and anyone using such a ramp is presumed responsible for its construction or placement. c. The section carries forward its structure from the 1979 Code § 4-28 but was amended in entirety in 2024.
