Omaha, NE Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Section 36-148 makes it unlawful to rollerskate or to ride, use, operate, race, or propel a skateboard or bicycle on public sidewalks in Omaha's downtown business district (Chicago Street on the north, Jackson Street on the south, 20th Street on the west, 8th Street on the east) and in the Jackson-to-Jones, Tenth-to-11th Street area. Walking or pushing a bicycle is normally exempt, except within the Old Market and Wholesale District (Harney to Howard, Tenth to 13th; Howard to Jackson, Tenth to 12th), where even walking a bike on the sidewalk is off-limits. Rollerskating is defined to include inline skates and skates with parallel-configured wheels.
