RVs, boats, and trailers up to 20 feet may be parked in driveways or side/rear yards on paved surfaces. Vehicles over 20 feet cannot be stored in residential driveways.
Omaha city ordinances allow recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers that are 20 feet or less in length to be parked in the driveway, on a paved surface adjacent to the driveway in the side yard, or on a paved surface in the rear yard. Any recreational vehicle, trailer, or boat exceeding 20 feet cannot be stored in a residential driveway. On public streets in residential districts, RVs/trailers/boats may not exceed 20 feet in length. City code permits a 24-hour loading/unloading window for RVs in driveways; if cited for violation, 10 days are given to cure. All vehicles must be properly licensed, operable, and on a paved surface.
Oversized RVs/trailers stored in residential driveways in violation will receive notice to remove within 10 days. If not cured, the vehicle may be towed at owner's expense.
