Omaha requires that all vehicles parked on residential property (including driveways, side yards, and rear yards) be properly licensed, operable, and parked on a paved surface. Unlicensed or inoperable vehicles must be removed or brought into compliance within 10 days of receiving a notice of violation. Vehicles stored off-pavement (on grass or dirt) are prohibited. The paved surface requirement applies to any vehicle including RVs, boats, and trailers. Compact parking stalls in zoned areas are 8 feet wide by 16 feet deep.
Owners who fail to cure driveway violations within 10 days may have vehicles towed at their expense. Fines may also apply.
