Full Breakdown
Section 4.09.005 of the Cedar Park Code makes it unlawful for any food establishment to employ a food handler who lacks a current registration certificate from the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD). Workers earn the certificate by completing a basic food sanitation class or passing a test through a WCCHD-certified trainer. Managers, assistant managers and shift supervisors who've completed the Texas state food protection managers course are exempt from the WCCHD card but must post that state certification instead. Cards must be displayed at the workplace for inspection.
Violations & Fines
Employing an uncertified food handler violates § 4.09.005 and is fined under the code's general penalty provision, § 1.01.009, per violation.
