Cedar Park Code Article 17.04 makes it unlawful to park any recreational vehicle, boat, boat trailer, or trailer on a public roadway or right-of-way in any residential subdivision at any time. A short-term permit allows up to 7 consecutive days, capped at 15 days per calendar year.
Under Article 17.04 (Stopping, Standing and Parking Regulations) of the Cedar Park Code of Ordinances, it is unlawful to stop, stand or park any vehicle having a manufacturer's rated carrying capacity of more than 1-1/2 tons, any vehicle exceeding 21 feet in length, any trailer, recreational vehicle, or abandoned motor vehicle on any public roadway or public right-of-way within a residential subdivision at any time. 'Recreational vehicle' is defined to include travel trailers, pick-up campers, camping trailers, motor coach homes, converted trucks, vans and buses, boats, boat trailers, personal watercrafts, and personal watercraft trailers (Art. 11.09 Definitions). 'Residential subdivision' means any platted subdivision zoned or used for any permitted residential use in the City. Section 17.04.013 allows the Building Official (or designee) to issue a permit allowing a registered recreational vehicle to be parked on a public roadway for not more than 7 consecutive days, with no more than 15 permitted days in a calendar year. The permit fee is $10.00 per day. While parked on a public roadway, the RV may not be connected to sewer, gas, television cable, or other utility lines, and connections to water or electricity are limited to readying the vehicle for use or routine maintenance. No person may inhabit a vehicle, including an RV, parked on a public roadway or right-of-way within the City.
Violations of Chapter 17 traffic and parking provisions are Class C misdemeanors prosecuted in Cedar Park Municipal Court; fines are set by the court's fine schedule (typically up to $200 for non-traffic-safety parking offenses under Texas law, plus state court costs). Vehicles parked in violation may be impounded under the wrecker provisions of Article 4.11.
