St. Peters, MO Public Health Rules: Restaurant Grade Cards (2026)

St. Peters Municipal Code Section 230.215 amends the Food Code with Section 8-304.11(K), which requires a permit holder to post or display the most recent inspection form, showing the inspection score on its first page, where customers can easily view it entering the establishment or near the counter where orders are placed. Section 8-403.10 sets the scoring system the City's Health Officer uses on every inspection: priority and priority foundation violations subtract five points each from a possible one hundred, core item violations subtract two points each, and the regulatory authority affixes a rating sticker at a designated public entrance based on the resulting score.

A score of eighty-five (85) or above earns an "A" sticker, seventy (70) to eighty-four (84) earns a "B," and sixty-nine (69) or below earns a "C." Section 8-403.20 requires the inspection report to state a correction deadline, and failure to correct within that time can mean cessation of food service operations; an operator may request a hearing in writing within ten days of cessation, and the City must hold that hearing within thirty days of the request. Section 8-403.50.1 separately requires every food establishment to display, at each public entrance and drive-up or walk-up window, notice stickers informing the public that the establishment is subject to inspection by the City of St. Peters Health Department; only a Health Department representative may place or remove those stickers.
