Full Breakdown
City Code Section 6-121 bars any owner from letting a dwelling unit that lacks a kitchen sink, lavatory, tub or shower, and commode, all in working order and connected to an approved water and sewer system. Fixtures must sit in a private room of at least 30 square feet, and every unit needs an adequate potable water supply. The Minimum Housing Code (Sections 6-122 through 6-129) also sets light, ventilation, electrical and structural standards for rentals, all enforced by the city building official through inspection and repair orders.
Violations & Fines
Letting a unit missing required plumbing, water or heating facilities violates Section 6-121; the building official can order repairs and pursue citations under the City Code Chapter 2, Article VIII code enforcement process.
