Full Breakdown
Hanford Municipal Code § 16.40.110(B) adopts a city policy protecting agricultural land and operations in Kings County's agricultural zone districts from encroachment by incompatible non-agricultural uses. Any rezoning, land division, zoning permit, or residential building permit within one mile of Hanford's urban limit line must include a condition requiring the applicant to record a disclosure acknowledging typical farm impacts (equipment noise, odors, aerial spraying, dust) with the Kings County Recorder.
Violations & Fines
The disclosure and recordation condition attaches to the development approval itself; an applicant who does not record the required notice has not satisfied the conditions of their rezoning, land division, or permit approval.
