Corpus Christi does not impose a maximum-nights-per-year cap on short-term rentals. Registered Type 1 and Type 2 STRs may operate year-round with no annual night limit.
Unlike some Texas cities, Corpus Christi does not currently impose a cap on the number of nights per year that a short-term rental may operate. Both Type 1 (owner-occupied) and Type 2 (non-owner-occupied) STRs may accept bookings throughout the year as long as the annual registration is active and all permit conditions are met. The city focuses enforcement on registration compliance, tax collection, and neighborhood impact rather than restricting rental frequency. There is no minimum stay requirement beyond the 12-hour minimum in the STR definition. Properties rented for 30 or more consecutive days are classified as long-term rentals and fall outside STR regulations. Texas does not have statewide night-cap legislation (HB 3778, which would have preempted local STR rules, failed in the 2023 legislature). The city council retains authority to add night caps in the future if neighborhood impacts warrant it.
