Corpus Christi STR operators are required to ensure guests comply with the city general noise ordinance. The designated local contact person must be available 24 hours a day and respond to noise complaints within one hour of being notified. Repeated noise violations from an STR property can lead to citations and potential permit revocation after three violations within a year. Operators are encouraged to post house rules inside the property addressing quiet hours, maximum occupancy, and neighborhood expectations. The city general noise provisions prohibit unreasonable noise disturbing the peace and quiet of any neighborhood. Enforcement is handled by both police (for immediate noise disturbances) and the four dedicated STR code enforcement officers (for pattern violations).
