Bayonne, NJ Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Parking Rules (2026)

Bayonne's short-term rental ordinance, added by Ord. No. O-24-12 and amended by Ord. No. O-24-37, requires the STRP owner to post several disclosures in a prominent location inside the rental, including the maximum number of parking spaces available for STR use on-site (City Code § 33-20.6.e.4). Posting inaccurate information is itself a separate violation of the article under § 33-20.6.f. Parking is also enforced through the complaint pipeline: under § 33-20.6.j, if the City's Department of Public Safety or the Department of Planning, Zoning, and Development receives two substantiated complaints concerning excessive vehicles belonging to a rental's transient occupants, the Director of the Division of Planning, Zoning, and Development or the Business Administrator (or either one's designee) may revoke the STR permit for the property outright.

That is a lower bar than the general three-strikes revocation standard in § 33-20.6.i, showing the City treats guest overflow parking as its own enforcement trigger. An owner who receives a written revocation notice under § 33-20.6.j.1 has 30 calendar days to appeal in writing to the Office of the Business Administrator and the Division of Zoning, and the Business Administrator decides the appeal within 30 more calendar days.
