All guest parking for a Hawai'i County STVR must be off-street and meet the parking standards in Hawai'i County Code Sections 25-4-50 through 25-4-54. Guests must park in the designated parking area, and the required number of spaces is set at registration.
The STVR Standards require that "all guest parking for STVRs shall be off-street and shall meet the requirements set forth in HCC Sections 25-4-50 through 25-4-54 and applicable parking standards in HCC Chapter 25." If there is any doubt about the requirement, the Planning Director determines the required number of spaces. The application site plan must show designated STVR parking drawn to scale, and the mandatory Good Neighbor Policy posted in the unit tells guests that "guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated parking area." NUC notification letters must state the number and location of off-street parking spaces.
On-street or overflow parking outside the designated area violates the STVR Standards and Good Neighbor Policy and can trigger Planning enforcement and possible registration revocation.
